Kalai Mahal-Vila, a Festival of Arts

Union Bank Sports Club together with staff put together a colourful ceremony attended by staff and customers to celebrate “Kalai Mahal-Vila” (a Festival of Arts) ceremony coinciding with the last day of Navaratri Festival. The event was held at Union Bank Wellawatte Branch on 17th October 2010. Cultural events were performed by staff members and members of Akshaya Arts Foundation, a leading dance troupe in town. Navaratri represents the celebration of Goddess Durga, the manifestation of Deity in form of Shakthi (Energy or Power). The Navaratri festival or “Nine Nights Festival” is celebrated all 09 days with various forms of Goddess Durga being worshipped with fervor and devotion.
